Blast yourself with hot water while washing... The steam produced will help your skin rid itself of impurities. By sweating, pores open and toxins are released (pollution, tobacco, makeup residues). Wrinkles become less visible, our complexions get a boost (steam increases blood flow) and our skin gets a thorough clean. Being eco-friendly we don't want to waste water, but once a week a little steam works wonders!
Once your skin is clean, massage on a fine grain body scrub containing sand, salt or almond shells. Start with your feet and work your way up. Don't rub too hard or you'll damage the skin's protective barrier. Do, however, pay attention to your buttocks, upper back, knees and elbows. Go easy on your cleavage, as the skin's very fragile. Result: baby soft, glowing skin!
If you have dry or sensitive skin, use your shower time to gently moisturise your skin and replenish its hydrolipidic film. Use a shower gel or soap rich in soothing and moisturising active ingredients - sweet almond, argan oil or shea butter work a treat. A soft, nurturing pleasure!
Finish your shower by turning down the temperature. Keep it up for three minutes and target your buttocks, thighs, abdomen and breasts. Cold water will improve your circulation, combat varicose veins and make your pins feel as light as a feather. It will firm your skin and help weight loss by forcing your body to burn up calories as it works to keep up its normal temperature. No pain, no gain, right?
