Vitamin C is an anti-ageing superhero. Its antioxidant properties combat free radicals responsible for ageing skin. It stimulates collagen production, plumps up features and smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles. You'll need:
- 1 tablespoon of honey (organic if possible)
- juice from 1 freshly squeezed lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon of sugarMix up the honey, lemon juice and sugar and gently apply to your face and neck. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.Your skin will feel plumped up from the inside out.
Turmeric is known for its antioxidant properties and ability to combat ageing skin. However this spice also brightens the complexion and reduces dark blemishes. When mixed with sodium bicarbonate, turmeric has a peeling effect that will zap blackheads and leave you with clear, glowing skin. You'll need:
- 1/2 tablespoon of honey
- 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric
- 1/2 tablespoon of bicarbonate of sodaMix the honey, turmeric and bicarbonate of soda in a bowl until you get a smooth paste. Apply to your face and leave for 10 - 15 minutes.
Remove it using light, circular movements as this will gently exfoliate your skin. Rinse off with lukewarm water. You'll be left with fresh, squeaky clean skin.
Green clay is a well-known sebum buster! It softens skin, unclogs and closes pores, whilst regulating sebum production. It gets rid of dead cells that dull skin, leaving the complexion even-toned, clean, supple and peachy. You'll need:
- 3 spoonfuls of honey
- 1 spoonful of green clayMix the honey and green clay until you get a smooth paste.
Apply it to your face and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Your skin will be left clean and matt without an open pore in sight!
Honey's been used for centuries as a treatment for dry skin. It has moisturising active ingredients that restore skin's natural elasticity. By deeply nourishing skin, olive oil limits the appearance of wrinkles by boosting cell regeneration. You'll need:
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of double cream or natural yoghurtStart by mixing the honey with the double cream.
Once you have a smooth mixture, add the teaspoon of olive oil. Keep mixing until you get a uniform texture. Simply apply this homemade mask to your face and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with clean water. Your skin will be nourished and no longer feel uncomfortable or stretched.

Rich in vegetable oils, almonds contain omega 6 and 9, as well as vitamin A (which improves elasticity), B, D and E (which boosts cell repair).You'll need:- 2 tablespoons of honey- 2 tablespoons of powdered almondsMix the ingredients until you get a smooth paste. Apply the mask using light circular movements to gently exfoliate your skin and then rinse off! Your skin will immediately look beautifully toned and even-textured.
